I want to compliment you on the wonderful atmosphere and high quality class at YHB! I have enjoyed every class and feel you have both helped my practice! I really appreciate your professional attitudes and the special care you take with each student to assist in alignment and injury prevention. I enjoy the chanting and spiritual reading also.

Good morning!  Here are just a few things that I loved about the class last night . . .

Your teaching of the meditation as the class began set the tone for the hour – the sense of connectedness, aspiration, listening to the body and remaining true to it.

Your detailed instructions on the advanced poses were clear and tangible!  Last night I was SO close to flying from downward dog to crow because of the one adjustment that I made as a result of your guidance.

You provide me with a sense of confidence in my abilities to explore new things.  For the first time I was able to do pinca and lift up into urdhva dhanurasana.  The standing up from urdhva to tadasana is not far behind.

The energy was loving, supportive and nurturing.  :-)

Closing with a guided meditation felt like it completed this beautiful circle of the class time.  While we worked very hard, there was a deep sense of internal peace.
Thank you for all that you are, Brian.  I am so grateful for your presence in my life.

Each day I am even more amazed and feel more blessed to be practicing at The Yoga House. I have come to learn through being a student here that Yoga is a key not only to breathing Divine Love but a catalyst for unfolding layers of ego, of ages that prevent me from experiencing pure Love and freedom. I have humbly discovered that what we do with our bodies is what we do with our lives. It is no longer the body image I strive for but its that connection with Source that I burningly desire. Through this Yoga, through the wisdom of my teachers here, the closer and closer to the Source I become. I have been introduced to floating which has deepened my practice through detoxifying and relaxing my muscles. And, if you have never experienced a massage with Brian, you deserve it. Not only does he have years of experience in massage but he has years of experience in very important concepts that he incorporates into his massage from acupressure, aromatherapy and body alignment to craniosacral work, energy work and light therapy. If you are ready for transformation and for an incredible journey, you've found the right place!

I am truly grateful that our paths crossed this past week. You are such a gifted healer, and I am thankful for your gracious help in getting me through the bar exam. The Universe knew what it was doing when it pointed me in your direction . . . the shared wisdom you offered me [and my aching shoulders!] was exactly what I needed. Bless you.

You rock!  Thanks.  I really appreciate it.

Thanks also for talking with me after class about some of the stuff that came up on the mat yesterday.  Yoga is truly a tool for transformation!!  The beautiful space and your teaching help create the environment and safety to grow and blossom.

See you tonight.

Much love,

Susan

Hi ladies,

My yoga studio – YOGA HOUSE OF BELLEVUE - is going to a donation-based fee structure to allow for more accessibility to yoga for those who want it.  I am in awe of this leap of faith in God and the universe for a small business owner to turn their business and income over.  Kinda like the 3rd step, huh?  The yoga is of course very physical but this studio is also very spiritually based which makes it a great complement to AA and recovery.  Brian – the owner and primary instructor – is a yogi, a healer and a massage therapist.  He is also one of the most loving people I’ve ever met.  This is a studio like no other.

I’ve attached a flyer.  If you can’t open it, I’ve posted a link to their website below for more information.

Love,

Jessie

I wanted to let you both know that I really think that things in life happen for a reason.  With that being said, I really want to thank both of you for showing me so many things that I would not have experienced if it were not for my accidents.  I learned so much from you.  I am definitely a better person after being shown your love, kindness, and your amazing gifts of massage and floating.

Thank you very much,
Jeni

Brian and Laura, I really loved all of the sweet, caring gifts in my Christmas treat bag.  Thank you so much for thinking of me.  The CD is amazing (I have been playing it nearly non-stop!), and the picture of your little ones is so very precious.

I am thankful each day for you.  Brian read a quote the other day on reverence and gratitude and it spoke so beautifully to the feeling that I hold in my heart for you.  Thank you, thank you for the gift of you in my life! Susan

It was such a pleasure to meet you.  I really enjoyed the instruction, very enlightening.  I am practicing the breathing, through the nose, posture and whatever else I can remember.  I will be emailing you next week with some times for us to meet for another private instruction.  I just want you to know that you are very inspiring in my life---thanks for being there.

Dear Brian

I am enjoying your classes.  I feel so fortunate that my friend mentioned you and your studio.
Thank you.
You are a wonderful teacher.

Brian,

Thanks so much for an incredible yoga class the other day! It was such a treat to be able to bring our team to such a great class! Everyone really enjoyed themselves! I appreciate the energy you put into your classes and the time you take to make sure we get the most out of each practice. You are making a difference. Thank-you!

Hi Brian, I hope you are well. The new website looks great!

I passed the Washington bar exam! Yea!! I am so relieved! I wanted to thank you again for all of your support and healing energy during that very stressful time. I did an intense liver cleansing diet the whole month of April, ending with a 3-day fresh juice fast. My energy has really picked up as I've let go of some old weight and emotional karma.

Just wanted to share my good news.
Peace,
Amy

Hey B1 and Laura,

Hi you guys, wanted to tell you again Brian how much I have loved the last three classes I have taken.  It feels like you are focused and delivering a class that flows, is challenging and the momentum is simply incredible.  If you cannot tell by now, I am a raving fan of what these classes feel like before and after.
So thanks for that and I heard B1 is ill so get better soon, and Laura I know you must be on your toes if not heels with work, a little one, and one on the way.  I miss you guys a ton and love you both.

I am off on a plane trip till Sunday and look forward to seeing you both as soon as possible.

See you next week,

 Bob

Laura and Brian

I sent out a group email , but wanted to give you some

more details. I had a GREAT labor --- only 3 hours and literally 1 push ( I had no tearing and no pain in recovery so far) . So, it must have been all the Yoga

I am very grateful to have this happy, healthy little

guy. Laura, so far two is easier in some ways than

one (I do have help though)

I can't wait to come back to Yoga and will send

picture soon. When is it ok to do Yoga post baby

anyway ?

I hope the studio is moving along and that both of you

are getting more sleep these days.

Thanks for all that you have done for me ---- Yoga has

been such a great part of my life and was especially

helpful during my pregnancy

(after a Yoga workshop on muscles at a local grade school)

Dear Brian,

You were terrific.  Thank you so much.  You’ll be getting thank you notes from the kids but I wanted to share some of the comments I overheard.

“Yoga was my favorite.”

“I want to do yoga now.

“Can we go back over there?”

‘The yoga rotation really pulled the whole thing together.  The way Brian talked about the body working as a whole got the kids thinking in a different way.” (a teacher)

“He’s a beautiful man – inside and out.”  (Your helper Kristine – who will come to your class after her unlimited pass runs out at a Kirkland studio.)

“Did you see what he could do?  He rocks.”

The morning was a great success.  See you soon.

Susan

Dear Brian,

I hope your week is off to a great start. I have been recovering from the bar exam all weekend, and will be hiking and playing for the next few days with a friend before heading to Eugene for a conference - a much needed week off! I am almost feeling back to normal . . .

Bless you.

I, too, am so happy to have met a kindred Kansas soul up in the Northwest, and wish you, Jai and Laura all the best. If ever you need or want a break from the bustle of Bellevue, you are always welcome to crash at my Oceanside cabin. On that note, I hope that despite all the many demands on your time right now, your yoga can bring you to that inner stillness, the place where none of our daily demands or routine matter, the place where you are just out there floating in the clouds, full of the Universe's peace, light and love.

Please stay in touch, and be good to yourself.

Namaste,
Amy

I have studied with Brian for just over five years now.  In his yoga teaching, he uses a variety of techniques in an eclectic mix.  This includes blending alignment principles from John Friend's Anusara, power techniques from Forrest yoga, philosophy with asana from Jivamukti® and bits from others, including Iyengar, Ashtanga and Bikram.

Besides asana, his practice includes teaching the philosophy of the eight limbs, practicing chanting, mudras, pranayama and meditation.

Brian participates in on-going teacher training and is mindful in crediting his teachers. He often demonstrates the poses, provides appropriate building blocks for those that aren’t ready for the full move, provides hands on adjustments to ensure students learn the better moves, etc. and provides a safe and nurturing environment in which to explore and develop.

Sincerely,

Jim

Brian,

I want you to know how grateful I am to have discovered Yoga House of Bellevue.  About nine months ago I had a series of health scares related to my heart and one of the things my cardiologist suggested was that I find a way to reduce stress in my life.  I started getting massage shortly thereafter and my massage therapist recommended I take the next step in controlling stress in my body and mind by visiting you at Yoga House.

I’d never participated in a consistent exercise program before yoga, but at this point I can’t see the end of my newfound yoga practice.  After nine months of coming to class with you and the other excellent teachers at Yoga House, I feel better than ever.  Physically I’m stronger, I’m leaner, I’m more aware of what’s going on inside, and the everyday aches and pains that have crept up on me as an adult, manifesting themselves through snaps, crackles, pops and slight pain in the joints, have simply disappeared.  My wife’s pretty happy with the physical changes as well.

Beyond the physical benefits described above, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the way you start, conduct, and end classes each day – with equal attention paid to your student’s mental well-being.  One simple exercise you lead at the start of each class, of dedicating our practice to something sacred or divine to us (students), helps me remember to stop and consider what those things are and to remind myself what’s important in my life.  The time we spend at the end of class in Savasana (corpse pose?) is often the only chance I get in a day to clear my mind and get some deep relaxation.  This is very rejuvenating.

Above all else, I’m thankful to you and your teachers for sharing a yoga practice with me that helps me to remain focused in the present and conscious of my attitude and actions, and aware of how they affect those around me.

Thank you,

Chris
